All these differentials to determine shifts in attitude...is it too much maths? I can usually add them up on the fly with mental arithmetic but then I am quite familiar with the mechanic having used it often. It might be suitable to put them in a table, though.
The table that follows may be used interchangeably for influencing Diplomatic Attitude via Diplomacy, or influencing Physical Attraction via Profession (Allure) (as discussed in Part 2). It shows the total differential that must be attained to cause a shift between multiple grades.
Extremely large differentials for extreme attitude shifts are shown for completeness, but are hypothetical. Everything with a magnitude larger than 100 is greyed out to make it easier to focus attention on the middle region of the table where most of the action will occur. I have seen positive differentials of greater than 100 in play for highly specialised, epic level diplomancer characters loaded with buffs but it happens rarely. Negative differentials of -100 or larger magnitude are very hard to imagine, but might possibly occur in the realms of the gods. They are in the table because I did not wish to define an arbitrary cut-off, but I can't imagine a situation where they'll be used.
